On 18 December 2016, fellow Rotarians from Rotary Club of Pandan Valley and ChiangRai North officiated our International Clean Water Project.

This Rotary Year RY2016/2017, the Rotary Club of Pandan Valley led by President Dave Wee set off to the continuation of our Clean Water Projects in ChiangRai North. Project served to benefit over 2600 needy students in SahasartSuksa School. They are mainly orphaned from hill tribes from 11 Northern Region of Thailand.The Project involved the drilling and building of one well, a large water filtration system and piping that brings the water into the various drinking points throughout the school.

Rotarians, family and friends of The Rotary Club of Pandan Valley together with sister Club of RC ChiangRai North established the need for this system and reached out to Rotary International Foundation for a Global Grant to support this mega water project. In addition, The Rotary Club of Taipei Lily of District 3480 participated in this project with cash contribution.

RC Chiang Rai North, Thailand District 3360 responsibilities were: 1. Assess the requirements of the project at the school - Sahasart Suksa School (Maefarlunag Road, Wiang) Chiang Rai, Thailand. 2. Coordinate the works with the appointed Contractors and Service providers - including securing quotations, awarding the contract, administering the works. 3. Managing the financial dispensation. 4. Monitoring, evaluating and reporting the completed works.

 
RC Pandan Valley responsibilities were:
 
1. Overall execution (from conception to implementation) of the project.
2. Arranging the funding for the project
3. Setting up of the dedicated bank account and maintaining financial records
4. Post project monitoring and administration. 5. Final Reporting and closing of account and project.
 
Total Budget for this Mega Water Project expended for this is US$35,000.
